OWFS checks CRC16 for many of the Maxim and third party 1-wire slaves. It's
a trivial burden on the host. (This includes the 1921 1923 1954 2406 2408
2423 2450 2502 2405 2506 2804 2810, BAE0910 BAE0911 ...)

In general, any transmission error triggers a repeat attempt (actually 2
repeats). Of course that might cause your slave to re-sense the value which
might be slow.
