Hi Mick. Actually, the owfs package is the owfs with fuse FS. The removing of the owfs package is completely normal when installing owfs-server (owserver). With owfs-server, I recommend to install owfs-client which contain the clients to use with owserver (such as owread, owlist, etc...).
