Thanks for the compliments. What distribution do you use?
(It's good to document successes as well as failures.)

DS2502? No clue. Probably persistent storage for some application or security
dongle.

Subject: [Owfs-developers] My first 1-wire attempt and a question

Well, I'm thoroughly impressed. I got my DS9097U yesterday, pulled fuse
and owfs from CVS, compiled, installed, ran, and got everything working
very quickly. (After I remembered my DS9097U was on ttyS1, not ttyS0)
I have working a DS18S20, a DS2405 hooked to an LED, and a DS2408 that
will soon control my sprinklers. Thank you guys for your excellent work
on this software.

Now, my question... My DS9097U appears to have a DS2502 inside. What is
the purpose of this? Is that so I can uniquely identify multiple
DS9097Us on the same system? Do I understand right that once I write to
this device, that's it forever?

Thanks
srw
