Hello Mr. Theriault, I've also run into the same issue when trying a SuSE binary on Knoppix.
Apparently SuSE links in the resmgr library on some standard calls. I certainly don't intentionally use resmgr or link it in. If you build from source, the packages will build on Knoppix, Ubantu and DSL, as well as SuSE. I'm told many other distributions work. If you like, I'll send you an Ubantu binary directly, since I have a machine with that distribution.
