Take a look at /var/log/messages or set error-level=3 to see about the
connection. I suspect there is no USB adapter in the sense OWFS expects.

OK now I can get it to mount and I get the following to happen:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$ /opt/owfs/bin/owfs -u /mnt/1wire/
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$ ls /mnt/1wire/
bus.0 settings statistics structure system uncached
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$ ls /mnt/1wire 
ls: /mnt/1wire: Transport endpoint is not connected

why is it the second time I try to ls it gives me this error? I can't delve 
into the directory structure of 1wire for it gives me the same message: ls: 
/mnt/1wire: Transport endpoint is not connected.
