Hello from Gregg C Levine I took a closer look at the FUSE website. And at the Source Forge mirror site that those characters at Planet Mirror maintain. Currently the people behind the FUSE project are only releasing their, ah, project available as tar files of rapidly increasing releases. I suspect it's because of the problems that we've collided with. There are scads of distributions of Linux and BSD and yes, even Darwin out there. Supposedly this problem will get solved as the millions of Linux users successfully migrate towards the 2.6 series of kernels, and those that contain FUSE.
Right now I am deciding what to do next. I am aiming towards this solution. That of working out the details of duplicating the same distribution that I'm running on the other computer here. Once I get the particulars sorted out, here, including a custom kernel, and even get the X display features working, my next step will be to work out the details behind making Slackware packages of FUSE.
