Hello from Gregg C Levine
This raises some interesting issues here. I develop using Slackware,
all of the 10 series releases are found here. My only problem is that
a custom kernel is a requirement for FUSE. I'm going to be trying the
latest and greatest OWFS software this week. 

Given what our correspondent chose to test his OWFS setup with that
will be my test vehicle. I'll know more by Friday at the latest.
