Nothing really, other than I fact that I was trying to build an entire system around it. I'd rather focus on a more general app that can later be plugged into the net4801 or any other net device for that matter. I had painstakingly stripped down a x86 debain install (>150 MB)...I now realize there are distros just for a system like this. I still like the net4801, in fact, I have two of them running owfs right now (and have been running for over a year). Maybe when things on the temp trakker side solidify I will move back in that direction.

Maybe price is the factor? In EU you could get a thin client Compaq T1000 for 20 Eur, it has got 200Mhz cpu, ethernet, 2 RS232c, 2 USB ports and pcmcia adapter.
it takes 5V (up to 18Watts) and "looks good".
