Paul - a few things I've done to troubleshoot ...
1.
Plugged in 3 different temp sensors on their own, all give
constants.
2. plugged in my AAG weather station and the DS18S20 in that reads
the same constant as the AAG temp sensors. The DS2450 for direction works fine
but the DS2423 for wind speed doesn't show up at all anymore
3.
Plugged in my rain bucket and lightning counter and both DS2423's show up. Maybe
a hint here as the DS2423 in the weather station doesn't show
up?
4.
My thermocouple device DS2760 shows up ok but only gives "Error: Invalid argument" on
all it's outputs now.
5.
Pressure and Humidity sensors work fine.
6.
Plugged the whole network into my windows box and everything shows up and works
fine in DDEView.
My
slug currently isn't attached to the internet, so I'll connect it next and
downgrade owfs back to v2.4 to double check everything (except pressure) is
working again.

Hello Lorenz,
I just tried the current version -- DS18S20 seems to work fine (owhttpd) on the standard platform.
There is a new release coming -- 2.5p5 with fixes for the DS2438 current sensing among other things. Perhaps Christian can create a new NSLU package for that one. I'll test it as well.
The problem certainly isn't obvious from the symptoms you describe. Any other clues?
