Hello all, (writing as acting list admin)
First of all, please accept my apologies for not catching up with the situation before it got out of hand. Apparently, one of the mailman upgrades disrupted the "no non-member postings" rule - being paranoid as I am, I remember setting it to "reject", and it was set to "accept" now when I checked it - fixed. Before, mailman didn't have an option for multiple list admins, now it does - I'd gladly provide the admin rights to a volunteer, with Paul's approval. Additional suggestions are welcome - please cc: me on them, as I'm drowning in mail traffic and lagging in mailing lists. Private mail would work the best, as it will be sure not to be caught by a mail filter and sent to the list folder. Afterword - OWFS is not the only list that gets hammered with spam like this. I run several other lists - same thing there. Worst of all, all the spam that gets through filters now is the one of a "diluted" kind that's been discussed on Slashdot a month or two ago - remember we were all wondering why there were pointless messages containing nothing but quotes from classic novels? There you go, the bayesian filters have been untrained, the spam is dead, long live spam. --vt ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
