Oh, I hadn’t consider the powering issue.

I just want more usb ports to play with and the 1wire adaptoronly work directly attached.

yes I have come across this problem. I've tried direct powering myself through the usb port with 2 different regulated 5V adaptors and all of the sensors misread. The 1-wire network just doesn't like direct powering, probably needs a very specific voltage.

like you i want my slug to be always on

maybe time to try one of those nasty hardware mods ....

Is anyone running OWFS on Unslung-6.8-beta, via a usb hub ?

Mine works fine if I connect it directly, but not if I connect via a hub.
