Is this a 64-bit or 32-bit Python?

I don't understand exactly why you're using pdb in the first place, but maybe 
the 
'n' problem is an artifact of pdb and not related to owfs at all.

Do you get this:
> AttributeError: "'module' object has no attribute 'cvar'"

w/o pdb?
