Hi,
I experimented with 1-wire and your software a bit, recently I soldered
a LCD-controller geared to the AAGelectronica-design, using the ds2408,
connecting the LCD in 4bit-mode etc. pretty much the same thing.

That design has never been tested. Only the HobbyBoards design and the Swart
design. AGG was just off their code and datasheet.

If you don't mind doing a bit of testing, I'm sure we can get it to work.

I tried it with your software but it doesn't work, something happened
when i write to the clear-command, but no message outputs.
so I tried with their testing-tool in windows and it initialized the
display and it worked pretty well, i restarted linux and tried with owfs
again, this time it actually wrote to the display, but only garbage
chars :(
when i removed power supply to the display and attached it again i
couldn't even write to the display - again something happens at 'clear'
but no characters show up.

I wonder if the problem isn't the setup commands.

I am using your 2.6p0 release, an ds9097u-connector on an
ubuntu-dapperdrake-linux with a 2.6 kernel.
you really support that design? else i would take a look at the source,
maybe i get it working :-/ although i'm not very advanced in
C-programming.

Greetings
