I took a look at the Hobbyboards-Design, it's not that different from
the AAG-Design. Hobbyboards seems to use Pins 4-7 for Data, whereas AAG
uses Pins 0-3, connected with DB4-DB7 on the HD44780-Controller.
Hobbyboard connects Pin3 of the DS2408 with Data/Command, whereas AAG
uses Pin4 for that.
And AAG uses Pins 5-7 for the Buttons, not P0-P2.

And using the DS2890 as Potentiometer is unnecessary in my mind...
