I just made available at http://www2.buoy.com/weather/owfsws/owfsws.tar.gz what I think to be real workable code. To use it, you need owfs installed and working, and the tarball. There's a simple README that should get you pointed in the right direction. After working through a bunch of issues this weekend, this has actually been working for me. Time to inflict pain on the rest of you! :) Thanks to everyone that has been feeding me ideas, and to Paul Alfille for putting up with my stupid questions and numerous bug reports.
