So far, I've had a lot of success using 1wire stuff: I have a 2408 running
some relays, am doing a bunch of stuff with temp sensors, and now I'm
trying to get a 2760 to detect temps in a furnace. The thing is: when I
ask for temperatures on the thermocouple I get reasonable answers, but
when I query the chip temperature itself, I always get '0'. I haven't
seen anything in the datasheet that would lead me to expect this: I
thought it'd report the room temp and use that number to calculate the
cold-junction temp and interpolate the actual thermocouple value. So now
I'm wondering if the thermocouple values are accurate and I don't have a
good independent way right now to verify them. Has anyone else played
with this? Does anyone have any advice?

Thanks

John
