Understanding that I am more of a user than a developer I did rely on what I
could find on google......and downloading the package, "./configuring" and
then a "make" did install OK...once I worked out how to install as root
(sudo -i)...as ubuntu disables root as default...

I did manage to get it going last night however if I had not have experience
with the NSLU2 and understand what owfs components actually did it would of
been very tough...I only really spent probably 1 hour all up to get it going
so it wasn't that bad, although a package that did it all would of been
great. I struggled to find out or understand what usb port for instance I
had plugged the 1wire into...I ended up just using -uall...

Matthias...If you happened to have some startup scripts you could send me
and advise where to place them that would be great....OH will they work if I
do not have a root account....I read somewhere that owfs needed root
account, although I could enable it disabling root for an internet connected
machine seemed to have merits ?...email scripts to
rjconway"at"bigpond.com

cheers
rob
