I've gone back through the versions and have found 2.5p10 is the last working
version of owserver that enables me to read the counter values of a 2423
I could not get 2.6p0 or p1 to even work on ubuntu I know after loading 2.6p5
/ p6 and p7 the counters do not work.
ANy idea's on why 2423 counter parameters do not work on the latest releases.
If I have to keep running 2.5p10 was this a stable release ?
cheers

Was there a resolution for this problem...? I had ignored the thread
previously since my NSLU2 was not effected ....
I moved from a NSLU2 SLUG 6.8 running owfs - 2.6p1-3 where my counters
worked great. I have just built a ubuntu box running owfs 2.6p6 as of 1 week
ago...I thought everything was OK as my physical network has not changed since
moving to a ubunutu box however, now like others, my DS2423 counters return
"error" for all counter values.
The owhttpd generated page for my DS2423 gives states "Error: Invalid
Argument" for;
- counters.ALL
- counters.A
- counters.B
- memory
- mincount
- pages/ { all entries }
The other entries appear to be fine.
cheers

see below for unslung 6.8 SLUG
I run a DS2423 on an NSLU2 and it works fine....
"owfs - 2.6p1-3"
# /opt/bin/owread -s 3002 1D.EBEF0900000034/counters.A

Hi all, FWIW all my DS2423 devices on the slug are now reading errors.
Does anyone remember which version these still worked for?

I've been looking at the code.
Can you post what kind of errors you are getting? Perhaps debug output?

Ouch. Any ideas where that comes from?
owserver doesn't seem to actually log anything special.
A Hacker's Guide (or, if it already exists, a pointer to it) which
gives one a few pointers WRT where to start finding that kind of
problem
would be appreciated.
