ok, so here's what i can get done on my linux box...

after booting, i :
mkdir /tmp/1-wire
/opt/owfs/bin/owfs -u -F -m /tmp/1-wire --allow_other

now the two components i have on my eval board show up just as they should. now 
my questions...

i don't think the 1-wire bus is hot-pluggable, ie if i want to add sensors, i 
stop and restart owfs with the new sensors installed. if i kill the owfs 
process, the /tmp/1-wire directory is hosed and i cannot delete it or restart 
owfs pointing to it. if i reboot the machine, it is gone and i can repeat the 
process. is there a graceful shutdown for owfs that leaves my mount point 
usable?

i haven't been able to figure out owhttp, or any of the other progs except 
owfs. where is the "1-wire on linux for dummies"?
