Actually, there is a very nice thread on OWFS memory issues at:

Basically #defining OW_ALLOC_DEBUG and running in the foreground gives a
file of every memory allocation and deallocation. I have a perl script then
that matches allocation and deallocations (also in the mailing list) so we
can see where the memory is being lost.
