I use a laptop to run owfs, 5VDC regulated from laptop usb to cat 5.  
12VDC for cat 5 comes from deep cycle battery fused at 1 amp.  Battery 
has a little 100 watt inverter for laptop if necessary, I seldom need 
it.  One day I will get Eric's power injector just for elegance.
