Hi everyone,
After a few years away from 1-Wire, the technology has suddenly become
one of my projects.
Anyway, 2 or 3 years ago, it was almost too simple to get things
working, and now I can't do it!
I've verified the devices work flawlessly under Windows XP with Maxim's
software, (as they're both home-made DS9097 clones), however, the moment
I boot into Linux, I get into a mess.
Here's the errors with error_level set to 5:
DEBUG: ow_ds9097U.c:DS2480_initialize_repeatedly(256) Attempt #0 to
initialize the DS9097U
DEBUG: ow_ds9097U.c:DS2480_big_reset_serial(325) Send the initial
reset to the bus master.
DEBUG: ow_ds9097U.c:DS2480_configuration_read(456) wrong response (0F
not 00)
DEBUG: ow_ds9097U.c:DS2480_set_baud_control(479) Failed first attempt
at resetting baud rate of bus master /dev/ttyS1
DEBUG: ow_ds9097U.c:DS2480_configuration_read(456) wrong response (0F
not 00)
DEBUG: ow_ds9097U.c:DS2480_set_baud_control(484) Failed second
attempt at resetting baud rate of bus master /dev/ttyS1
DEBUG: ow_ds9097U.c:DS2480_configuration_read(456) wrong response (0F

DEBUG: ow_ds9097U.c:DS2480_set_baud_control(479) Failed first attempt
at resetting baud rate of bus master /dev/ttyS1
DEBUG: ow_ds9097U.c:DS2480_configuration_read(456) wrong response (0F

DEBUG: ow_ds9097U.c:DS2480_set_baud_control(484) Failed second
attempt at resetting baud rate of bus master /dev/ttyS1
DEBUG: ow_ds9097U.c:DS2480_configuration_write(440) wrong response
(45 not 44)
This repeats 10 times before it goes off and does its stuff
CONNECT: owlib.c:SetupSingleInboundConnection(105) Cannot detect DS2480
or LINK interface on /dev/ttyS1.
CALL: ow_parsename.c:FS_ParsedName_anywhere(90) path=[]
DEBUG: owserver.c:main(152) main_threadid = 3075672784
Except, of course, I can't actually use said link!
Command line is: /opt/owfs/bin/owserver -d /dev/ttyS1 --foreground
--error_level=5
And yes, /dev/ttyS1 is right, as my motherboard is badly messed up!
Can somebody tell me where I'm being really stupid?
Cheers,
Chris Malton
