Hi,

I am working on an Ubuntu/Debian package for owfs. For now I compiled
2.8p0 as a package for Ubuntu Lucid (10.04), but I have a contact in
the Debian electronics team and I will ask them to include the package
into Debian testing. You can see the current compilation log here:
http://launchpadlibrarian.net/54116605/buildlog_ubuntu-lucid-amd64.owfs_2.8p0-1_FULLYBUILT.txt.gz

Now some questions:

1. Are the next configure options OK, is something missing, should
something be removed, what do you expect to be present in a
distribution?

Current configuration:

    Deployment location: /usr

Compile-time options:
                  Caching is enabled
                      USB is enabled

                   HA7Net is enabled

             Debug-output is enabled
                Profiling is DISABLED
Tracing memory allocation is DISABLED
1wire bus traffic reports is DISABLED

Module configuration:
                    owlib is enabled
                  owshell is enabled
                     owfs is enabled
                  owhttpd is enabled
                   owftpd is enabled
                 owserver is enabled
                    ownet is enabled
                 ownetlib is enabled
                    owtap is enabled
                    owmon is enabled
                   owcapi is enabled
                     swig is DISABLED
                   owperl is DISABLED
                    owphp is DISABLED
                 owpython is DISABLED
                    owtcl is DISABLED

2. Is there a document in the tar-ball that provides a good overview
of how owfs can be used?

I am able to test owfs with a homemade interface:
http://rattus-pubis.blogspot.com/2010/08/how-to-convert-usb-to-rs232-adapter.html
And I also wrote a Verilog RTL module 1-wire master and ported the
public domain kit software:
http://github.com/jeras/fpga-hdl/tree/master/hdl/onewire/
I would like to write a Linux kernel driver (W1) and/or port the owfs
libraries to Altera Nios II + SOPC Builder + uCOS II, but I will
discuss this in future mails.

Regards,
Iztok Jeras
