Hi everyone, With the DS2409s now being Not Recommended for New Designs (NRND) by Maxim, is there any sane way to do one-wire hubs?
To cut a long story short, basically I'm in need of an insanely huge one-wire network (many hundreds of meters long), and I'm trying to work out whether I use a collection of BifferBoard units (linked up with some flavour of wifi), or whether I can run the distance with one-wire. The catch to all this being, I need to know where the DS1990s are being tapped in. Any pointers on long cable runs and one-wire would be appreciated, in particular maximum tx/rx lengths (over Cat5e) and suchlike.
