Hi.

When I use owdir on a DS18B20 sensor, I have a "alias" file, when I try
to write into it and then read, I get an error.

owdir --dir -s localhost:2125 /28.28341D020000/
/28.28341D020000/address
/28.28341D020000/alias
/28.28341D020000/crc8
/28.28341D020000/errata/
/28.28341D020000/family
/28.28341D020000/fasttemp
/28.28341D020000/id
/28.28341D020000/locator
/28.28341D020000/power
/28.28341D020000/r_address
/28.28341D020000/r_id
/28.28341D020000/r_locator
/28.28341D020000/temperature
/28.28341D020000/temperature10
/28.28341D020000/temperature11
/28.28341D020000/temperature12
/28.28341D020000/temperature9
/28.28341D020000/temphigh
/28.28341D020000/templow
/28.28341D020000/type
echo $?
0

owwrite -s localhost:2125 /28.28341D020000/alias CLIM1
echo $?
1

owread -s localhost:2125 /28.28341D020000/alias
ServerRead: Data error on /28.28341D020000/alias
echo $?
0

Why can't write an alias, as it would be easier for some purposes ?

I use owfs 2.8p7.

Thanks for helping.

Bye
