OK, I have got the wifi working fine with the router a wifi client on my network. > The only difference is that with 2.6 kernel serial port is /dev/ttyS0 or > /dev/ttyS1 > and with > >>> >>> Which 1-wire adapter are you using? >> >> I have a DS9097U-009 on order and have fitted the serial ports as >> http://www.rwhitby.net/projects/wrt54gs with an additional wire to >> take 5V to RTS for the adaptor. >> >> Hopefully I am going down an appropriate path. > > It should work with WRT54G it the same 1-wire driver that is inside mine > adapter. > http://owfs.org/index.php?page=wrt-router-mods----p4trykx I seriously considered using your design but decided to go for a standard serial port and a separate adaptor as this is still very much at the experimental stage and thought that at some stage a standard serial port on the router might be useful. > > If you want to have more memory for storing readings from sensors you > could consider adding SDcard. It's fairy easy for WRT54G. Look for "SD > mod". The plan is for the router to be a remote 1-Wire hub which just serves data to a central control via the wifi so I don't need any local storage, at least initially. The DS9097 should be here within a day or two. I will report back.
