I use two DS2480B self built adapter with p13 and they seem to work fine.  
I just pass -d /dev/ttyS1 parameter. I also used DS2480B with FT232RL  
serial<->usb converter. The only problem I came across was that the serial  
port sometimes is not exclusively use by owfs. Maybe there is some process  
on you machine that also uses serial port. On routers there is usually a  
console output on first tty. It outputs data also from bootloader and can  
put DS2480B in strange state while power up.

DS2490 chips are out of production. However there are  
usb<-serial->1-wire(DS2480B) devices.
