Roland,
Since your problem seems to be the addition or subtraction of the "--debug"
parameter, I wonder if there is an issue with going into background with
busybox.
Can I suggest you try:
owfs –-foreground –d /dev/ttyS0 –m /mnt/1wire
That will separate out the error messages from the foregroung/background
issue.
All this being said, for owfs (not owserver of owhttpd) it is FUSE that
does the foreground/background switch.
