I suggested a "hack" to outline the source (IMHO) here
http://www.mail-archive.com/owfs-developers@lists.sourceforge.net/msg08624.html

Its the same problem, though unsure if it applies to very old versions
like 2.7:
- the DS9490 doesn't get initialized after a reset-error->chip-reset,
i.e. runs on with Power-on defaults (regular instead of flexible speed),
which is very deadly on long lines
- changing the Slewrate-control - though I cannot tell yet which one is
more important.. Still testing..
But both together improved realiability here from hours to days!
owserver uptime is 6d currently ;)

OTOH, with unslug you might also run into a completely separate thing
which I get only using openwrt (trunk) here: there *is* another problem,
maybe libusb-related, but I haven't been able to trace this down to a
reasonable description yet as it's hard to get..(and the two things
above also applied here, making any debugging useless so far..)
Still hunting..

If you have coding experience: Help wanted, *I guess* it's somewhere
around the usb_interrupt_read not working perfectly same on different
(embedded) platforms..
