Hi Giulio, You might want to take a look at the OpenEnergyMonitor project: http://openenergymonitor.org/ . It's Arduino but the Ac monitoring side of things won't be any different, except you will have to find appropriate Onewire devices to interface the sensors to owfs.
Your comment on not being strong on electricals is a bit of a concern. Mains power is very unforgiving of mistakes - you won't get a second chance. If you are not comfortable with your abilities in handling this stuff, then it is better to defer to somebody who is. Most of the stuff on the OEM project is pretty safe and you can do what you want without touching any live wires, but just be careful that you go down the non-invasive path.
