No, I don't need a video of this. Above, you're doing it different than
you do it in your python script.

Above, you readdir("/tmp/ow/uncached"). In your python script, you do

        if ospath.isexists('/mnt/1wire/uncached/01.4991AE150000/id')

instead, which is stat("mnt/1wire/uncached/01.4991AE150000/id",...).
These are two different operations. Please do a

$ cat /mnt/1wire/uncached/01.4991AE150000/id

after pulling the iButton chip. By the way, even readdir on
/mnt/1wire/uncached/01.4991AE150000) will still show this directories
content even when readdir on /mnt/1wire/uncached lets you assume it has
long gone away:

$ ls /mnt/1wire/uncached/01.4991AE150000/
