Hi Jan,

 

let me describe what I'm doing and what is happening:

1. Connect DS9490R to the LCD controller with a RJ12. (Before I checked that all wires are connected through)

 

2. Put this into the windows laptop, start oneWireViewer and see both devices listed. I can't do anything more with this software, it just shows both devices, the 81.xxx and the FF.yyy

 

3. Pull out the combination and put it into the Linux-PC (or the raspberryPi) instead. Start owserver -u and see only the 81.xxx when performing owdir /uncached.

 

Because I heard that power supply of the LCD controller might be problematic. So I performed the same 3 steps with additional power supply with the exact same result.

 

Conclusion:

Both devices work with OneWireViewer, only te 81.xxx is recognized by owserver.

Could there be a timiing problem? I'm trying to debug, but it is very difficult to find out on which function I have to look. It must be somewhere in ow_dir.c

That tells nothing. To check what's wrong, it's important to connect the
LCD controller, then read /uncached. When the 81.xxxx in the DS9490R
magically disappears when connecting the LCD controller, you have a
power or cabling problem.
