Out of curiosity: Why didn't you use just "apt-get install owserver" 
(and maybe also "ow-shell" or whichever components you need)?

Or, the other way round: That's what I did. And even if I only have one 
1-wire device connected so far, it appears to be working (version 
2.8p15).
