So I gave it another try today, by trying to address it from an arduino uno. 
Again the "old" issue of contrast (no pixels/dots visible). Looking at the 
example code (PHP) does not help too much as I do not understand how to 
manipulate single pins e.g.

(I did not check with owfs today as there is no new patch.)

So I see 2 possible ways to somehow continue on this as I think this is a nice 
display.
1. I will try to contact the manifacturer for some support to us
2. I can spend my display - as I cannot use it - and send it to Jan (?), if 
that is ok and helpful

Other suggetions are very welcome.
