in IE8, OwnCloud is not useable. Files and navigation elements are missing:

I found some information on the internet, that it's because OwnCloud uses SVG
icons.
But for XP IE9 is not available. And XP is still maintained until 04/2014. So
XP with IE8 should be a supported browser, because many still are running XP.
I saw that Adobe had an SVG plugin for IE, but discontinued it in 2009. But
google created a solution that should be included in OwnCloud to solve this issue:
