Then it has to be something else. I get an error message in the
terminal that my dirs doesnt exist. I've reported a bug:

I've been using the owncloud client in Ubuntu 12.04 with the latest
git and it works fine. There was an issue with SSL certs a few weeks
back, but the last update seemed to resolve that. Haven't tried the
android client lately...
