Hey Victor, I guess you mean PageKite: http://pagekite.net It’s free software and also available as hosted service. So you only have to run a small script on your computer and your localhost is available on the web. And yes, if providers would also have their own PageKite reverse proxy, it would enable more people to be in control of their data, at a location they also physically control.
