I'm also really interested in OAuth for ownCloud and would still propose
an integration into the core library with a public API (like
OCP\OAuth...) so OC apps can provide their data for native clients using
OAuth authentication. In fact I was once working on a Tomboy sync server
app for ownCloud but gave up implementing the OAuth part :-/
But I know that Michael Gapczynski <[email protected]> was also working
on OAuth implementation, we've had some discussion on this...
Regarding your specific case (GNOME applications): *DAV use HTTP basic
(or even digest?) auth anyways, so OAuth ain't needed here, sadly. And
SSO is no hard question here, because all remote protocols use the same
user/password. This means you can easily ask for ownCloud URI, user and
password in your GNOME Online Accounts manager and write it into
configurations for Nautilus, Evolution etc.

Or, do you recommend that we just ask for the user's password?
