Hey, could you try something similar with the calendar? Perhaps
https://google.com/m8/caldav/ would work.
The CalDAV URL is publically available:
https://www.google.com/calendar/dav/ [ your Google Calendar ID ] /events
The CardDAV one is not yet on the Google help pages, thats why it was
interesting to discover.
