Hi Karl, I am not sure I understand. Perhaps, you want something like a "collaborative real-time editor" ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collaborative_real-time_editor). If yes, this has already been discussed in this mailing list. It looks like it's not practical without using technologies like node.js, which are not in the spirit of ownCloud. Or did I miss something?
