Hi, I have been looking at "other" carddav/caldav systems and whilst there isn't a global consensus on naming, several trends are visible:

For calendars, there is a strong trend to default to 2 default calendars (icloud/google):
- Home
- Work

For addressbooks things are less clear, but I see:

- Many programs have a "Collected" folder that is used to collect autocomplete addresses whenever you reply to someone. Common name seems to be "Collected". eg see Thunderbird & Outlook (and a couple of others I forget now) - IOS 5 seems to have problems with multiple addressbooks and only shows the first defined addressbook. IOS6.1 at least seems to support multiple addressbooks, but I think new contacts still get added to the first defined - Therefore you need to keep your "normal" contacts folder with a name alphabetically below the "Collected" addressbook...

Therefore I propose it will be most familiar to new users if we change the defaults as follows:

Calendar:
- Home
- Work

Contacts:
- Addressbook
- Collected

I would be happy to submit a patch for this, would a developer confirm it's wanted?

(Note that OC currently only creates these default names if there are no calendars/addressbooks defined - the change above is unlikely to confuse existing users or break anything particular)

Thanks

Ed W
