You could also use emacs if you dont want a full blown server OS. And more people use it than FreeBSD

Hello!

I'm setting up new OC installation. For server i'll use linux and clients will be mostly Windows.

What is your experience, what would you suggest for server: Debian, Ubuntu, Red Hat, CentOS... ?

Thank's for any answer.

Just use the OS that you feel most comfortable with.
I use FreeBSD for all my server related work.
Do not use a OS because someone tells you it is better.
Maybe be you do not like FreeBSD at all, or you fell lost when using it, then do not use it. Or maybe you can almost blindly use it, then FreeBSD is your best bet. That goes for all linux and BSD flavors

When you hit troubles, it is nice if you know the OS..
