Hi, I had a similar problem when upgrading to OC 5. The sync client of some users started to produce huge amount of .conflict files. I could solve it (at least until now), by a) stopping the sync client, b) deleting the complete local sync directory, c) recreating it and d) starting the sync client again, so that all files were pulled from the server again. No data loss occurred and since then, everything works fine. Of course, this is nothing I want to to with every upgrade or with bigger user numbers...
Searching for a reason for this behavior, I found the hidden file .csync_journal.db in the synced directory. Maybe just this file has to be regenerated (from time to time).
