That's because anything prior to 12.04 comes with ancient libraries,
and, just like Debian 6, we will need to drop source compatibility to
those sooner or later.

stuck into never-ending dependency problems?
For a remotely useful answer, I need to know which version of Ubuntu we
are talking about.
