Unfortunately this is an odd situation: Shorty works fine and is used frequently. However it is NOT possible to integrate Shorty into OC itself: you cannot use Shorty to shorten the links ownCloud creates itself: for example share links. I made several attempts for this, but failed each time, since the OC core simply does not allow such integration. Since there was no real interest from the core team I dropped the issue. Sorry.
