Hi, Not sure about CentOS but PHP 5.3.3 is indeed the default version on Redhat 6 (and probably CentOS is aligned on this choice).
Still, we are using a newer PHP version via the Redhat feature called Software Collections. This page mentions CentOS at the bottom.
