Thank you! Creating another personal access token and entering it instead
of my GitHub password when asked by the GitHub add-on to authenticate seems
to have fixed the problem.

I guess you want to create a Personal access token here:
https://github.com/settings/tokens
Make sure you tick the Repository checkbox and use the token instead of
your password.
