This major release expands connectivity for AI services, including a new
AWS Bedrock connector, introduces advanced project-aware and agentic
workflows, and delivers new developer-centric tools. These updates help

*What's New in Oxygen AI Positron **8.0** for Desktop*
The Oxygen AI Positron for Desktop add-on integrates AI-powered
authoring and development within Oxygen XML Editor, Author, Developer,
and the Oxygen JSON Editor. Key enhancements include:
* *Unified Add-on*
The former AI Positron Assistant and AI Positron Assistant Enterprise
editions are now merged into the single Oxygen AI Positron add-on.
Previous users of both add-ons benefit from this change, non-Enterprise
users have more functionality that was previously available only in the
Enterprise version, such as the Model Context Protocol (MCP) support,
while Enterprise users will be able to connect also to the Oxygen AI
Positron Service as AI provider.
* *Multi-Provider AI Connections and New Integrations*
Oxygen AI Positron 8.0 introduces the ability to create and manage
multiple connections to supported AI service providers, allowing you to
switch between different AI models based on specific project needs. A
new dedicated connector for AWS Bedrock enables instant access to
enterprise-grade AI models featuring real-time streaming and multi-modal
capabilities. The update also adds support for the latest models from
leading providers, including OpenAI GPT-5.1, xAI Grok 4 Fast, Claude
Sonnet 4.5, and Claude Haiku 4.5.

The new release brings a range of agentic tools and workflow
enhancements that empower you to automate and refine XML content creation:
- Smarter AI context prompt setup, including a new action to generate
project-specific agent instructions for more relevant AI-generated content.
- Edit document and list directory tools, enabling precise file
modifications and improved project structure awareness during
AI-assisted chat sessions.
- XML refactoring tools and project-wide search (grep inside the
project) are now available directly in chat modes, supporting advanced
restructuring and content discovery (requires Oxygen 28.0).
- Enhanced project content search options, giving granular control
over how the AI retrieves and matches relevant documents.
- AI-powered new file creation, allowing you to guide content
generation with prompts and attachments, and refine results through

A new "Autocomplete" AI action provides real-time, context-aware code
and markup suggestions as you type, at the caret location, and the
"Generate Code" action leverages the structure of the associated XML for
more accurate proposals when editing schema, XSLT, and XQuery.

The update introduces a new chat welcome screen with instructional
resources and quick access to chat modes and actions. Tool names and
descriptions have been refined for clarity, and you can now specify
multiple context files to improve AI relevance. Custom AI actions are
prioritized in the interface, ensuring faster access to user-defined

* *Local MCP Server (Experimental)*
Run Oxygen as a local Model Context Protocol (MCP) server to let desktop
AI assistants (eg: Claude Code, Claude Desktop) validate, edit, and

Version 8.0 of Oxygen AI Positron integrates the following AI-assisted
