I do not believe anything decent exists on Windows / .NET at all. Everything
we looked at had problems one way or the other. The only thing that looked
any good was Telligent's Community Server however it is $20K/server/year and
to be honest - aside from the ability to reflect a web forum against a
mailing list *properly* - it isn't really special.

You can have a look at Active Forums for Dot Net Nuke. It is pretty
reasonably forum software (not many plugins AFAIK). Just don't be fooled
into getting the enterprise edition as the mail connector is brain damaged.

Forget it. SMTP is dead on Windows and SMTPSVC might as well be abandonware.
I busted my chops trying to make this list work on Windows but had to give
up in the end. The queue status files are all opaque, logging is useless, it
is not very configurable. There is nothing but pain in your future if you go
down the SMTPSVC path.

We found a few - none of it any good.
