unfortunately I thought Visio is not as good as the logical datacentre
designer you can't use it to validate your application architecture.

Would have been nice if Microsoft had both or provided the logical
datacentre designer as an add on option

It was removed from the product. I'd suggest trying Visio as a replacement.

Subject: Visual Studio 2010 architecture and uml modeling

Hi,

In Visual Studio 2005 and Visual Studio 2008 architecture edition there was
the ability to draw architecture diagrams and represent IIS and database
servers using Logical Datacenter diagrams. Does anyone know how to achieve
this in visual studio 2010? Seems the adoption of UML 2.x designer meant
dropping the logical server representations ?

Cheers,

Tom
